I've been fumbling around unsure whether or not I actually do need to make a screenshot/gif/etc page, I more than likely will, but it always makes me feel so wild when it comes to actually putting things like this together because I always go completely 100% with it. I just can't help myself. I'll work on organizing everything beforehand I think, because I'd also like to make a section for archiving the junior novels.

I ordered the books I was missing, I decided it'd probably be wise to just read them in order and then write about them here. Not reviews or anything, just expanding on the canon in the books. The little bit of one of the books I read a few days ago, the way they characterize Sharpay is absolutely hilarious, and Ryan comes off as super chatty which is funny. I look forward to reading them in order and figuring out what the hell is going on in the book series.

I think a gallery section would be a good idea, but I'd have to separate it by MOVIE, because I am wild about organization. Watch me post like 400,000 screenshots perfectly organized by movie/media. Keep an eye out for a "Screens" section in the navbar LOL. Once I figure out how I'd like to archive the novels, those will go up too.

I was rewatching the original movie earlier just for the purpose of making gifs and taking screenshots and just. God. They really are just perfect. The way they complement each other, the way they play off of each other. It is just something I am absolutely obsessed with. The way they behave around one another. I know Sharpay is the little beast, but it is so addicting to watch Ryan - with his usually soft demeanor, behave just as sneaky and conniving as his sister.

Like yes he is a little dumpling so to speak, but watching him get sassy or a little rude to other characters (or his own sister) is just something I LOVE. The little faces he makes, his little smirks and eyebrow raises uggghh so cute so cute. You learned that from your sister didn't you, didn't you you little silly boy oh my god.

I think one of my favorite things is when it seems to come out of nowhere, or even when it surprises Sharpay, like in HSM2. Always playing the lamb, showing his belly to his darling sister only to surprise her by biting at her hand when she moves to pet him. Oh they are both so darling. Watching them interact with one another, their body language and expressions...My sweet demure boy squished under the loving and protective heel of his emotional sister...But also not fearing her enough not to grab at her ankle when the time is right. Pull her down to your level.

I love watching his reactions to some of the stuff she does. In HSM3 he reacts with such exasperation to her for most of their interactions, it is despicable how cute it is. The way he trails after her like a foal when she takes off when she frustrated. They are made for each other.

part of me HATES that they're your average suburbian golfing with my rich parents kids but part of me loves that for them

it really adds to the upper class life that is meaningless and devoid of feeling thing they've got going for them. i love to imagine the both of them struggling to entertain themselves in their big empty house while their parents are off entertaining or working. it’s obvious that material spoiling was the winner when it came to raising them, and I imagine time spent with their parents was very similar to what we got in HSM2. Superficial family time, fleeting and not very memorable in the long term.

How long can getting whatever you want really work out? Also this is the movie where we see that there really is a little bit of incest subtext in their relationship, a deleted scene with Ryan being absolutely furious that he isn’t playing the romantic role opposite of Sharpay. Heehee. anyway. they're cute as hell.

Ohh my god… I forgot Ryan was dyslexic… the way she reacts to him like UGH of course this shit again oh my god…oh my god…annoyed and fussy having to teach her twin how to read because their parents won’t get him into any sort of program that would help him… teaching him lyrics through primarily memory and repetition because he struggles to read them and figure out the phonics himself, he is completely useless without her and she is completely useless without him oh my god

Out of the two of them, Sharpay is definitely the long term cutter.
I’ve seen people say she’s too squeamish and full of herself to hurt herself but you’re so wrong she would do it as a pre-teen not only to gain attention and sympathy from others, but also because she learned it from Ryan. (joining him to make him feel less alone at the time, he would regret this later.)

Ryan would have definitely stopped by later on in his HS career, but with the new and glaring implication of Shar having an eating disorder ( she’s 105lbs and anxious about that fact according to her [SFA] ) there is definitely quite a bit she still struggles with.

I just love the idea of her casually swatching foundation for her arms and thighs because she has an audition lined up and needs to make sure her newest oopsie is all covered up by midweek.
